MEET THE TEAM
TRAINERS
Maggie
Graduated from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in 2011 with a BS in Equine Training & Instruction, she spent a semester abroad in Ireland studying theories of equine training & problem analysis with cross country horses. Serving as Equine Director and Instructor at a PATH Intl. Therapeutic Riding Center for over 6 years, Maggie's experience is both diverse and accomplished. Maggie takes pride in learning about each individual horse she trains.
Chester
Working with horses from a variety of training backgrounds, most notably at equine assisted therapy barns, Chester most enjoys lunging, ground driving, and driving horses. Chester builds confidence and understanding for horses and humans through groundwork.
HORSES
Fancy
Fancy Pants Dream
Previously a pony horse on a thoroughbred track in Illinois, Fancy is a registered Appaloosa and has enjoyed many experiences since then- barrel racing, trail riding, hunter jumper arenas, equine assisted therapy, lesson horse, and having a foal.
Eleanor
Fancys Celtic Beauty
Born right here at Grey Guardian Farm in May 2021, Eleanor is an Irish Sport Horse, meaning she's an Irish Draught Horse cross. The daughter of Fancy, we have high hopes for Eleanor's future as an archery and carriage horse.

Royal
A Real Enchanted Charmer
Born at Grey Guardian Farm in June 2022, Royal and Eleanor share the same sire, an Irish Draught named Cappa Irish Charmer. Royal is Arabella's colt and will join Eleanor as a carriage horse when he's older.
Belle Etoile
Originally from Arkansas, then rehabbed in Missouri for 8 months, Belle was rescued to become a leisure driving horse. As a 19.1 hand Percheron mare, Belle is the largest in the herd. We are so thankful to have found her, our "beautiful star".
MOUSERS
Barn Cat Finn
Found at a boarding barn in downtown Colorado Springs, he was so friendly that we knew he needed a home of his own. Finn may be shy of new people, though once he's comfortable with who's around, he has the loudest meow you'll hear, yelling for attention!

Grey Guardian Farm's
Lasting Legends
These legendary souls have touched many hearts, leaving a lasting legacy behind.
Vicky (1996-2022)
Grey Guardian Farm's namesake- Vicky was a flea-bitten grey mare. As a retired kid's show horse, a patient and nurturing therapy horse for over 6 years, and the calm yet sure matriarch of the herd, Vicky was the proud and trusted guardian for many.

Barn Cat Kylo Ren (2020-2022)
Found as a tiny kitten in a Black Forest horse barn, Kylo was a bold and brave mouser- often returning from the farmer's field at dusk, searching for his favorite humans, and his dinner.

Arabella (Real Fine Enchantment)
On lease to Grey Guardian Farm from 2020-2022 by the Lucas Family as a broodmare, and now home with her family in Oklahoma. Arabella was a beautiful, sweet addition to our herd. Royal carries her kind disposition and was born with almost perfectly matching palomino paint markings.

Barn Cat Rose (2022-2024)
Wandering onto the farm as a tiny kitten, Rose was friendly and outgoing. She loved cuddles mostly, though Finn was a good role model for her and taught her how to mouse!
